Keep Our Beaches Clean
On Sanibel Island, pets must be kept on a leash and cleaned up after, while they are not allowed on Captiva beaches. From November through May, alcoholic beverages are prohibited, and open fires and the collection of live shells are strictly prohibited. Visitors will find basic restroom facilities at all public beaches on Sanibel and Captiva, with some locations also offering picnic tables and showers. Handicap parking is complimentary, while general parking costs $2.00 per hour, payable by cash or credit card. Additionally, parking tickets cannot be used interchangeably between Sanibel and Captiva.
